64. Thomas Skillman was born in 1727 in Newtown (Maspeth Kills), Queens, NY. He served in the military in 1776 in Revolutionary War. Private, N.J. He signed a will on 28 July 1809 in Montgomery Twp., Somerset, NJ. Will was probated 1/2/1810. Thomas died in December 1809 at the age of 82 in Millstone, Somerset, NJ. Thomas S. Skillman's SR application gives place of death as Harlingen, N.J. His SOA Number is 15. He was buried at Skillman-Beekman Cemetery in Harlingen, Montgomery Twp., Somerset, NJ. Gravestone:

... m. 1751 Mary, dau. of Gerardus Beekman (b. 1700) and his wife Catharine Van Dyck; granddaughter of Christoffel (b. 1681) and Maria de La Noy; great granddaughter of Gerardus (Col. and Dr.) of Flatbush, son of the ancestor of the family in America, Wilhelmus Beekman (wife Catrina de Boog) immigrant from Overyssel, later a Schepin of New Amsterdam. The family home of Thomas and Mary was at Harlingen. Thomas d. in 1809, and Mary in 1819. Their graves are in the Beekman burying-ground at Griggstown.

"Skillman, Thomas, of Montgomery twsp. Dated July 28, 1809. Probat. Jan. 2, 1910. Names wife, Mary; children of sons Gerardus (deceased?) and Thomas (deceased?); sons, John, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph and Cornelius. Daus., Anne, Catherine (wife of Peter Voorhess), Polly. Executors: sons John, Abraham and Isaac. Witnesses: J. Stryker, John Beekman, Abraham Beekman. (A, p. 223)."

Thomas Skillman and Mary/Maria Beekman were married on 2 October 1751 in Griggstown, Somerset Co., NJ. Mary/Maria Beekman, daughter of Gerardus Christopher Beekman and Catharine Van Dyke, was born in 1733 in Kings Co., NY. She died in June 1819 at the age of 86 in Harlingen, Montgomery Twp., Somerset, NJ. Gravestone:
