196. Joseph Skillman was born on 12 March 1768 in Harlingen, Montgomery Twp., Somerset, NJ. He died on 7 August 1852 at the age of 84. He was buried at Harlingen Dutch Reformed Church Cemetery in Belle Mead, Somerset, NJ. His SOA Number is 42. From SOA:
Eventually to Joseph and wife fell the original Skillman Homestead at Harlingen.

Joseph Skillman and Elsie "Elsey" Van Arsdale were married on 25 November 1797 in Somerset Co., NJ. From SOA:
m. Elsey Van Arsdalen, descendent of Symen Jansen Van Arsdalen, who settled at Flatlands, L. I., in 1653, whose wife was Pieterje Claesen, dau. of Pieter Claesen, head of the Wyckoff family in America.
Married by Harlingen. Elsie "Elsey" Van Arsdale, daughter of Abraham Van Arsdale and Elsie Baird, was born on 16 February 1780. She died on 12 November 1857 at the age of 77. She was buried in Harlingen, Montgomery Twp., Somerset, NJ. Somerset. Co. Hist Quar. vol VIII : Van Aartsdalen.

512	i.	Mary Skillman was born on 18 June 1798. She died on 6 March 1882 at the age of 83 in Belle Mead, Somerset, NJ. From Hunterdon web page: Miss Mary Skillman, of Harlingen, Somerset county, who was nearly eighty-four years old, attended church in her usual good health last Sunday. After the service was over she walked home, and upon reaching the gate began to feel badly. She was unable to enter the house without assistance, and immediately became unconscious. Lingering in that state until 9:20 Monday morning, she died of apoplexy. 513	ii.	Alice Skillman was born on 25 June 1800 in Six Mile Run, Franklin, Somerset, NJ. She was baptized on 3 August 1800 in Six Mile Run, Franklin, Somerset, NJ. She died on 29 August 1887 at the age of 87 in Belle Mead, Somerset, NJ. Alice was buried at Harlingen Dutch Reformed Church Cemetery in Belle Mead, Somerset, NJ. Her SOA Number is 42 ii.

516	v.	Eliza Ann Skillman was born on 22 November 1807. She was baptized on 17 January 1808 at Six Mile Run Dutch Reformed Church in Franklin Park, NJ.
