510. Dr. Thomas Skillman was born on 27 May 1808 in New Brunswick, Middlesex, NJ. He received a M.D. degree in 1830 at Coll. of Phy. & Surgeons in New York, Kings, NY. He died on 20 September 1853 at the age of 45. Thomas received a degree at Rutgers Univ. in New Brunswick, Middlesex, NJ. His SOA Number is 121. He was buried at Elm Ridge Cemetery in Franklin Pk., Middlesex, NJ. Tombstone inscription:
"In memory of Thomas Skillman, M.D. who died September 20, 1853"

Dr. Thomas Skillman and Caroline Stringham Raymond were married on 8 October 1832. SOA has 1837, Sally Jean Skillman Gray reports should be 1832. Bottom of "2" on the line of the register, making it look like a "7". Caroline Stringham Raymond, daughter of George Burret Raymond and Susan Parker, was born on 29 June 1807. She died on 19 March 1845 at the age of 37. She was buried at Elm Ridge Cemetery in Franklin Pk., Middlesex, NJ.

Dr. Thomas Skillman and Ellen Polhemus were married about 1847. Ellen Polhemus, daughter of Daniel Polhemus and Lydia Covenhoven, was born on 22 May 1814. She died on 12 February 1890 at the age of 75. She was buried at Elmwood Cemetery in New Brunswick, Middlesex, NJ. From SOA:
