1. Headstone says died in 1807. "Hutcheson Genealogy" says 1809. Used 1809, because Charles III is reported to have been born in April 1807. Also, headstone spells first name "Alphord" and "HG" spells it "Alfred". Death Certificate of his son spells it "Alfred". The headstone contains the following"
"He married Matilda Sigler March 15, AD 1827
There is no death what seems so is transition.
This life of mortal breath is but a suburb of the life elysian, whose portal we call death."

Alfred Leander Hutcheson and Martha Matilda Siglar were married on 15 March 1827 in Rhea Co., TN. Martha Matilda Siglar, daughter of Philip Siglar and Frances Nall, was born on 23 February 1811 in Tennessee. She died on 27 January 1886 at the age of 74 in Snyder, Kiowa, OK. He died on 18 November 1882 at the age of 34 in Snyder, Kiowa, OK. Alfred was buried at Watson Cemetery, Row 13, Grave 13 in Arlington, Tarrant, TX. 1. Also listed in 1880 Tarrant Co., TX Census are three Negros, probably former slaves: Joseph Hutcheson, male, 21; Sarah, female,33; Jeremiah, female, 6. - "Hutcheson Genealogy", Pg. 198. 2. The headstone photos for A.L.Hutcheson in Watson Cemetery are assumed to be the marker for Alfred Leander Jr. The birth date on the family page does not agree with the date on the marker, but they are close. More investigation needed here - M.Carter. 3. In the 1880 US Census, the last name is spelled "Hutchison" and shows the family living in District 92, Tarrant, Texas. The family was: A. Hutchison Son M S W 2 TX From the above, it appears that Alfred Jr. was born in 1854, but since his headstone has month and day, I will use the headstone date of Feb. 3, 1848.
