In the 1920 Census his brother Warren Ellsworth and his wife Frances R. Barnell were living with him.

Ethel Wise Purcell, daughter of Royal Ellis Purcell and Georgia Wise, was born in January 1890 in Vincennes, Knox, IN. She died about 5 January 1966 at the age of 76. She was buried on 7 January 1966 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN. She is buried in Section 2DD, Marker N, Lot 78.
