4036	iii.	Ewell Jefferson Skillman was born on 17 November 1889 in Zachary, East Baton Rouge, LA. He died on 26 May 1942 at the age of 52. E.J. Skillman, dies in Alexandria Ewell J. Skillman , a 52 year old resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Zachary, Louisiana died at the U.S. Veterans hospital in Alexandria yesterday following an illness of several months. He fought in World War I and was a member of the American Legion. The body arrived her last night on the Southern Belle and will rest at the Rabenhorst funeral home until funeral arrangements are completed. He is survived by his brother, Lamar, of Shreveport, and a sister, Mrs. Clyde Butler of Baton Rouge, both of whom have been in Alexandria for the past several weeks,. another brother, Emmett, died several years ago. He was buried on 28 May 1942 at Baton Rouge National Cemetery, Sec 1 - Site 49-B in Baton Rouge, LA. Ewell served in the military. Private 1st Class, Battery F 46 Field Artillery, LA.
