Died at 4:20 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. He was a resident of 1439 Arlington Avenue, a native of Zachary, and was 74 years old. He was a retired employee of Humble Oil Company after being employed at the Shreveport office for 20 years prior to the service of 20 years at the Baton Rouge office. Body at Rabenhorst Parlors from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and from 8:00 a.m. Sunday.

Religious services at Rabenhorst chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday conducted by Dr. Dana Dawson of the First Methodist Church. Burial Magnolia Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his wife Nellie Crichton who died in 1963.

Survived by one sister, Mrs. Sadie S. Butler of Baton Rouge; one nephew Emmett Skillman, of Beaumont, Texas; and two nieces Mrs. Charles Downs of Houston and Mrs. George Dawson, of Joseph, Oregon. He had Social Security Number 435-01-6679. Lamar was buried at Saint Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge, LA.

At St. James Episcopal church on Wednesday morning, June 17, 1914, at 5 o'clock. Mr. Lamar Skillman and Miss Nellie Prescott Crichton were married. Reverend Father J. Gilmer Buskie, officiated in the presence of relatives and a few intimate friends.

Simple decorations of white flowers and fern and soft glow of candle light, with the bright freshness of early summer morning served to make the ceremony of the church especially beautiful and impressive.

At exactly 5 o'clock the bride entered the church on the arm of her uncle, J. Allen Dougherty, who gave her marriage into the grooms keeping at the chancel, where he stood with his best man Emmett Skillman. Owning to the early hour, there were no attendants or music.

The sweet young bride was irresistibly lovely in royal blue pussy willow taffeta with white lace. She wore a stylish little Panama hat trimmed simply with a blue ribbon of the same shade of blue.

Mr. and Mrs. Skillman left immediately after the ceremony for points in Texas and will make the longest stop in Galveston. On their return they will be located with Mrs. S.H. Lemon at Laurel street. A large number of handsome gifts in cut glass, silver, fine linen and ornaments were received. Nellie Prescott Crichton was born in 1896. She died on 30 October 1963 at the age of 67.
