PEORIA -- Charles C. Skillman, 87, of 722 Alexander died at 12:05 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

Born Feb. 6, 1911, in Canton to Joseph C. and Martha M. Ford Skillman, he married Mara M. Freeman on Feb. 6, 1931, in Lewistown. She died March 19, 1988, in Peoria.

He also was preceded in death by one sister.

He later married Margaret L. Schermer on Aug. 26, 1992, in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Richard of Peoria, Charles of Sunrise Beach, Mo., and Robert of Honolulu; four grandchildren; one sister, Lilly Althiser of Morton; and one half-brother, Harold Ramsey of Pekin.

A meat cutter for 30 years, he worked at Moran's Meat Market in Pekin and retired from the Kroger grocery store on Wisconsin Avenue in Peoria in 1973. He was a member of the Meat Cutters Local and the Greater Peoria Moose Lodge.

He attended Trinity Lutheran Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wilton Mortuary. The Rev.
Wayne Martin will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m.
Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria. She was buried on 16 January 2003 at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria, Peoria, IL. She was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria,IL.
