Fifth St., Jamestown died Sunday afternoon (May 11, 1975 at his home. Before retiring Mr. Skillman operated a farm in the Town of Ellery. Mr. Skillman was an Ellery resident until coming to Jamestown seven years ago. He was born in the Town of Ellery, Sept. 26, 1900, the son of John and Jessie Fisher Skillman. He was a member of the Bemus Point United Methodist Church; Ellery Grange; Dairymen’s League Association; and was a charter member of the Ellery Center Fire Department. Surviving are a son, Edwin Skillman of Ellery; a daughter, Mrs. Anthony Barone of Lakewood; nine grandchildren, Lisa, Dana and Lori Barone, Thomas Skillman, serving with the U.S. Air Corps in Charleston, S. C.; Phillip Skillman, serving with the U.S. Navy in Hawaii, Peter, Peggy, Shamla and David Skillman. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Margaret Casselman in 1968; and two brothers, Frank and Sherman Skillman. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Paul E. Robinson, pastor of Bemus Point United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Bemus Point Cemetery. He had Social Security Number 091-30-8685. Elmer was buried at Bemus Point Cemetery in Ellery Center, Chatauqua, NY.

Elmer Lester Skillman and Margaret "Peg" Casselman were married. Margaret "Peg" Casselman, daughter of Orville C. Casselman and Martha Olive Simmons, was born on 10 June 1905. PJ: 9/9/1968: Mrs. Margaret "Peg" Skillman, 63, of Oriental Park, Bemus Point, died unexpectedly at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, (Sept. 8, 1968) at Jamestown General Hospital. Mrs. Skillman had been a waitress at Ramsey’s Restaurant for the past 18 years. She was born in the Town of Ellery, June 10, 1905, the daughter of Orville and Martha Simmons Casselman and had been a resident of the Town of Ellery her entire life. She was a member of the Bemus Point United Methodist Church and was a former superintendent of the Sunday School and a member of the official board of the church. Surviving are her husband, Elmer L. Skillman; one son, Edwin L. Skillman, Bemus Point; a daughter, Mrs. Anthony Barone, Lakewood; two brothers, DeForest Casselman, Youngstown, Ohio; and Elton Casselman, Maple Springs; three sisters, Mrs. Stella Hallberg, Falconer; Mrs. George Crandall and Mrs. Clyde Stowell, Bemus Point, and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Bemus Point Methodist Church. The Rev. Sheldon Peterson, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Bemus Point Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Jamestown Division of the Western New York Chapter, Leukemia Society of America, or to the American Cancer Society She was buried at Bemus Point Cemetery in Ellery Center, Chatauqua, NY. Peg had Social Security Number 118-16-6323 NY.
