PJ: 11/2/2000: Rindge, N.H.: Edwin Lynn Skillman, 69, of 15, Payson Hill Road, formerly of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Bemus Point, died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 1, 2000) in Cheshire Medical Center, Keene, N.H. He was born Nov. 16, 1930, in Jamestown, the son of the late Elmer L. and Margaret Casselman Skillman. He was a 1949 graduate of Bemus Point High School and had been a lead man and machinist at Synthes LTD, U.S.A. in Monument, Colo., retiring in 1996. He had formerly worked at Axelson Inc. and Schlage Lock Co. in Colorado Springs and Marlin Rockwell Corp. in Jamestown for 26 years. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Fountain, Colo., and the Bemus Point United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Randolph Moose Lodge and a former member of the Ellery Center Volunteer Fire Department. He bowled in the Casino Volunteer Firemen’s League, where he won a trophy during the 1976-77 season, was a basketball referee for 24 years in Jamestown and six years in Colorado. He also played for and managed softball for the Schlage Lock Co. and Synthes LTD, U.S.A. Team. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Carol Morin, whom he married March 20, 1976, in Jamestown; four sons: Thomas K. Skillman of Charleston Heights, S.C., Phillip E. Skillman of Delta, British Columbia, Peter L. Skillman of Leroy, N.Y., and David J. Skillman of Dewittville; two daughters: Peggy L. Skillman Moore of Celoron and Shamla D. Skillman Hallberg of Bemus Point; a stepson, David M. Lauffer of Colorado Springs; 11 grandchildren: Lindsay Skillman of Charleston Heights, Christopher and Kevin Skillman, both of Delta, Susie, Stephen and Sarah Skillman, all of Leroy, Candace Skillman Russo of Hawaii, Deanna Moore of Celoron, Samuel and Jacqueline Moore, both of Falconer, and Nathan Hallberg of Maple Springs; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elaine Skillman of Lakewood. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Janelle Moore, on July 8, 2000. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home. The Rev. James D. Bailey, pastor of Park United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Bemus Point Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. .....Bearers at the funeral were: Thomas Skillman, Phillip Skillman, Peter Skillman, David Skillman, David Lauffer, Anthony Barone. He was buried on 4 November 2000 at Bemus Point Cemetery in Ellery Center, Chatauqua, NY. Buried in Lot 457G-10.

Edwin Lynn Skillman and Wilma Joanna Martin were married on 1 May 1950. Wedding performed by Rev. Harold L. Knappenberger Jr. They were divorced. Wilma Joanna Martin, daughter of Herbert Martin and Dorothy M. Haberly, was born on 10 March 1931. She died on 6 August 1997 at the age of 66. She was buried. Wilma had Social Security Number 123-24-9968 NY.
