We didn't have any records showing Richard's parents. In the 1880 Breckinridge County census there is a Richard Skillman in the household of William Jordan. William Jordan had a sister Nancy who married George Washington Skillman. In the 1880 Breckinridge County census George and Nancy's children are living with various relatives of Nancy. George and Nancy are possibly dead by 1880. I found a Richard S. Skillman age 27 in Gentry, Missouri in the household of William Patton, also in the Patton household was a Carlton E. Payne age 16 bon in Kentucky. Carlton would be related to Richard Skillman through the Claycomb-Jordan marriages. I think that Richard is the son of George Washington Skillman and Nancy J. Jordan. He was buried at Blackwell Cemetery in Blackwell, Kay, OK. Richard Stith Skillman and Bertha I. Swearingen were married in Gentry Co., MO. Bertha I. Swearingen was born on 1 September 1884.
