3525. Abraham Barton "Abe" Lancaster was born on 30 July 1841 in Keene, Jessamine Co., KY. He died on 24 September 1923 at the age of 82 at his home, E. High St. in Lexington, Fayette, KY. Cause of death was a heart attack. He was buried on 25 September 1923 at Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Fayette, KY. Abe served in the military at Co. D, 2nd Reg., Cavalry KY Vols, Confederate Army. Joined the Confederate forces under Gen. John Hunt Morgan's command. Gen. John B. Castleman was his captain, Gen. Basil Duke his colonel, in the 2nd Cavalry, Co., D. Taken prisoner near Louisville, sent to prison in Chicago, escaped to Canada. He became a member of the Confederate Veteran Assn. of KY on 11/29/1890. In 1901 A.B. and his second wife, Eliz. Hill build a 4,000 square-foot home at 646 E. High St. in Lexington in the Chautauqua Woods Addition (subdivision.)

Abraham Barton "Abe" Lancaster and Susan Anne "Sue" Harris were married on 1 November 1876 in Lexington, Fayette, KY. Married at the residence of John W. Frazer, Esq.(her brother-in-law) in Lex. Ky, 11/1/ by the Rev. J. S. Saipman. Susan Anne "Sue" Harris, daughter of Albert Wagstaff Harris and Mary Elizabeth Woolfolk, was born on 7 November 1849 in Nelson Co., VA. She died on 14 July 1896 at the age of 46 in Lexington, Fayette, KY. She was buried on 15 July 1896 at Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Fayette, KY.

Merritt Proctor Lancaster was born on 13 September 1880 in Lexington, Fayette, KY. He died on 13 February 1928 at the age of 47 in Long Beach, CA. Cause of death was tuberculosis and pneumonia. He was buried on 28 February 1928 at Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Fayette, KY. He is buried in Section 15, Lot 20. Merritt graduated at Yale University in New Haven, New Haven, CT. He was a worker at Am. Telephone & Telegraph in New York and Boston.

She died on 10 January 1934 at the age of 59 in Lexington, Fayette, KY. She was buried on 12 January 1934 at Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Fayette, KY. Cremated, ashes interred in Lex. Cem. Another source gives Naomi Hill, they had 3 children.
