1584. Thomas Joseph Skillman was born on 24 January 1840 in Blawenburg, Montgomery Twp., Somerset, NJ. He served in the military from 3 September 1862 to January 1863 in Union Army. Union Soldier, Co. F. 30th Reg. N.J.V.

Reg. of Off. & Men of NJ in the CW 1861-65. He died on 12 February 1911 at the age of 71 in Blawenburg, Montgomery Twp., Somerset, NJ. The Hopewell Herald on 12/14/1910 reported that Thomas had a stroke on his right side the Thursday previous. Thomas was buried on 12 February 1911 in Blawenburg, Montgomery Twp., Somerset, NJ. Tombstone inscribed: "CO.F 30 REG N.J. VOL." He was a farmer in Skillman, Somerset, NJ. Served in Company F, of the Thirtieth Regiment during the Civil War.

Frederic T. Skillman's SR appl gives birthplace as Readington, N.J. She lived Hopewell Rd in Montgomery Twp., Somerset, NJ on 1 January 1920. She died on 5 November 1929 at the age of 86 in Bound Brook, Somerset, NJ. Emily Schomp Skillman, died 5 November 1929, bound Brook, Somerset, New Jersey; widowed; born 16 October 1943; age 86 years; birthplace, NJ; father, Tunis Schomp, born New Jersey; mother, Eliza A. Hoagland, born New Jersey; cause of death, Chronic Myocarditis; burial, Blawenburg, New Jersey; informant, rs. Arthur A. Bergen, Bound Brook, New Jersey. Emily Schomp's marriage record indicated that her mother is Margaret Hoagland* Emily was buried on 8 November 1929 in Blawenburg, Montgomery Twp., Somerset, NJ.
