8738. David Marion Skillman was born on 21 April 1945 in Washington, DC. He served in the military Staff Sergeant from 1967 to 1971 in U. S. Air Force. He died on 8 February 2006 at the age of 60 at his home in Oakland, Garrett, MD. David Marion Skillman, 60, Oakland, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at his residence following an illness. Born April 21, 1945, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late William and Mary F. (Zuckerman) Skillman. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Charles Lowdermilk. Mr. Skillman was a certified public accountant, a member of the Cumberland Rotary Club, and volunteered with the Family Crisis Resource Center of Allegany County. He was an Air Force veteran, serving from 1967 to 1971. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Skillman, Oakland; two sons, Charles I. and wife Carolyn Lee Skillman of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Matthew W. Skillman, Springfield, Va.; his mother-in-law, Adeline Lowdermilk of Oakland; his stepsister, Elaine Lawson of Capon Bridge, W.Va.; and one grandson, Cole David Skillman. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, at St. Peter?s Catholic Church, Oakland, with the Rev. Manning Smith and Rev. Rick Spencer officiating.
