Frances Greene Skillman, 100, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Harbour Manor Nursing Facility in Noblesville, IN. She was born October 1, 1911 in Winchester, IN to the late Luther E. and Pearl May Greene.
She was a nurse and did all of her nursing career at Community Hospital, East in Indianapolis, retiring in 1976.
Her high school basketball team won the State Championship in 1926. She was recognized as the girls basketball player with the most points scored in one game (48). She was an avid bowler with family, friends and co-workers. Frances was a long-time member of Teegarden Christian Church, Ansonia, OH.
Frances is survived by three children, Forrest Skillman, Jr., Judith Shake and Joyce Ennis; seven grandchildren, Marc Skillman, Gaye Ann Skillman, Jo Piel, Cynthia Young, Sherri K. Stepp, Gary D. Ennis and Gregory C.Ennis; 8 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Skillman; five sisters;grandson, Bob Shake; sons-in-law, Robert B. Shake and Charles W. Ennis; daughter-in-law, Patty Skillman.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm Monday, August 6 in the Good Shepherd Chapel at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (9700 Allisonville Rd), where friends and family are invited to visit from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
