She died on 4 March 2012 at the age of 81 in Port Charlotte, FL. Patty M. Skillman, age 81, of Greenwood, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012 in Port Charlotte, FL. Patty was born November 10, 1930 in Indianapolis to Archie Otis and Sadie Irene (Deckard) Rinehart. She graduated from Howe High School with the Class of 1948. Patty enjoyed playing golf, embroidery, playing the organ, square dancing, and clogging. She was a member of the Red Hat Society as well.
Patty married Forrest Skillman, Jr. on May 7, 1949 in Indianapolis and they were the love of each other’s life. Patty is survived by her husband, son, Marc (Janet) Skillman; daughter, Gaye Skillman, and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Archie Rinehart; three sisters, Glenda Berkshire, Mary Jo Dougherty, and Bobbie Jean Post.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with visitation from 9:00 AM until service time. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorial Contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society. She was buried on 9 March 2012 in Greenwood, Johnson, IN.
