1244. Isaac Wilson "Jay" Skillman was born on 23 October 1832 in Paris, Bourbon, KY. He served in the military in August 1861 at Confederate Army, Eighth Missouri Cavalry. Served under Gens. Bragg and Price, participating in the "disputes" at Shiloh, Chickamauga, Chattanooga, Ball's Bluff, Lookout Mt., Meridian, etc. He was captured by the Federals at Ft. Fisher, FL, held a month and paroled. He immigrated in 1873 to Iowa. Jay immigrated in 1879 to Humboldt, Richardson, NE. Between 1879 and 1882 he was a grocer in Humboldt, Richardson, NE. He lived in Humboldt, Richardson, NE in 1880. After 6 February 1882 Jay was a proprietor at Central Hotel in Humboldt, Richardson, NE. He died before 1932 at the age of 100.
