3677. Wesley Middleton Skillman was born on 21 September 1878 in SE Washington, DC. From 1898 to 30 September 1945 he was a chief clerk at Budget, Fiscal & Constr. Div. of Nat'l Guard Bur. of War Dept. in Washington, DC. He served in the military WW II Draft Cards (4th registrations) for MD in 1942 in Silver Spring, Montgomery, MD. Wesley died on 10 May 1951 at the age of 72 in Silver Spring, Montgomery, MD. Silver Spring Man Ends Life With Poison -

Wesley Middleton Skillman, 73 9930 Markham street, Silver Spring, a retired Federal worker, died yesterday as a the result of poisoning. Dr. F.J. Broschart, Montgomery County Medical Examiner, issued a certificate of suicide.

Skillman's wife was awakened when he fell in the bathroom. She rushed in and he told her he had taken poison. The Silver Spring Rescue Squad took him to Washington Sanitarium where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Skillman was a native of Washington and was employed in the former war Department until his retirement five years ago. He had been in poor health. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Warner E. Pumphrey Funeral Home, 8434 Georgia avenue, Silver Spring. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. He was buried on 12 May 1951 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Washington, DC.

Miss Fannie Hull Burnett was married to Wesley Middleton Skillman of Washington, D.C., on Wednesday evening at the residence of her aunt, Mrs. Thomas E. Warman, 159 West Seventy-eighth Street. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Grace Northall Burnett, as maid of honor. The house was decorated with palms and daisies, and a large reception followed the ceremony. Among those present were: Mrs. Walter Squires, Mr. and Mrs. William Hollister, Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Wilmerding, The Misses Serre, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Firth, Maury Middleton, Mr. and Mrs. Serre, Mr. Carlisle, The Misses Skillman.

Fannie Hull Burnett, daughter of Benjamin Jesse Burnett and Louisa Georgiana Watts, was born in 1878 in New York. She died on 26 April 1946 at the age of 68 in Takoma Park, Montgomery, MD. She was buried on 30 April 1946 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Washington, DC.
