12254. Ronald Leroy Skillman Sr. was born on 5 April 1940 in Joppa, Harford, MD. He died on 23 July 2009 at the age of 69 in Perryman, MD. Ronald L. Skillman Sr., age 69, of Perryman, MD, died suddenly on July 23, 2009. He was born on April 5, 1940. He was the son of the late Roy and Hilda Skillman of Joppa, MD, where his property joined theirs and he resided most of his life. He was a lifetime member of the Otter Point Yacht Club and enjoyed crabbing, fishing, and being on the water. He referred to himself as "The Waterman on the High Seas." Ronnie was loved by all and his sense of humor, practical jokes, and stretching the truth about his "catches on the water" were notorious. He had a heart of gold and a sunny disposition that few could surpass. Ronnie will be sorely missed by all of his family members, close friends and everyone whose lives he touched. The Otter Point Yacht Club will not be the same without his constant presence, joking and laughter. Ronnie is survived by his daughter, Vicki Martel and husband, Brian, of Bunker Hill, WV; son, Sam Skillman and wife, Muriel, of Abingdon, MD. He is also survived by his very close brother, Billy Skillman and wife, Shirley, of Bel Air, MD; and loving companion of twelve years, Janise Cullum, who he referred to as "My Jenise." He had six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Patti Skillman; son, Ronald L. Skillman Jr, and great-grandson, Donovan Joseph Ragan.
