703. Isaac Meredith Skillman was born in August 1832 in Tishomingo Co., MS. According to 1900 census, he was born in Tennessee. 1910 Census in Mississippi. He was born in August 1832 in Coosa Co., AL. According to 1900 census, he was born in Tennessee. 1910 Census in Mississippi. In 1850 he was a day laborer in Tishomingo Co., MS. Isaac appeared in the census in 1900 at 300 Magnolia St. in Little Rock, Hill Twp., Pulaski, AR. In the 1900 Census he and son John were boarders with the McNew family. He died on 25 March 1914 at the age of 81 at Confederate Home in Little Rock, Hill Twp., Pulaski, AR. OBITUARY

SKILLMAN - Isaac M. Skillman

was born in Tishomingo county, Mississippi. August 1, 1831, and died March 25, 1914. He and Miss Mary E. Farmer were married July 3, 1856, and lived devotedly together for 57 years, 8 months and 22 days.

It is seldom that a couple is blessed together with so long and happy married life. His devoted widow is still living at the Confederate Home at Little Rock. Brother Skillman was a useful member of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, for more than 50 years, was gifted in public prayer and was also a sweet singer in the congregations.

We are sure that he is singing now, and will thru all eternity, in a nobler, sweeter song, with all the redeemed through Christ. He was an honorable Confederated soldier of the true Southern blood, hence he spent his last days on earth in our Confederated Home, where he drew a large circle of living friends about him.

May god give his sweet spirited, heart broken widow grace to walk in cheerful resignation the valley of mourning and bring her at last to join her sainted husband in that home prepared for all the faithful in Christ Jesus.
