272. Samuel Doughty was born in 1765 in Basking Ridge, Somerset, NJ. He died on 10 March 1829 at the age of 64 in Butler Co., OH. RECORD OF WILLS, BUTLER COUNTY, OHIO, MARCH TERM 1829
In the name of God Amen. I Samuel Doty of Liberty Township Butler County and State of Ohio, being weak in body but of sound mind memory and understanding and considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and to the end that I may be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me, hence, do therefore make and declare this my last will and testament in manner as followeth-First, I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God my creator and my body I commit to the earth at the discretion of my executors herein after named and my will is that all my just debts shall first be paid,
ITEM: I give and bequeath into my beloved wife, Mary the tract of land on which I now live lying in Liberty Township Butler County and State of Ohio containing forty six acres more or less, during her natural life and at her death my will is that it shall be equally divided amongst all my children also all my personal property. I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary. The names of my children that I wish my real estate divided among is my sons, Jesse Doty, Jacob Doty, William Doty, Samuel Doty, Joseph Doty, Daniel Doty,Stephen Doty, David Doty, and Elijah Doty and my daughters, Hannah Austin, Elizabeth Davidson, Mary Davidson, Prudence Moor, and Rachel Doty. I do also appoint my beloved wife Mary my sole executor.Signed sealed and acknowledged by the testator in presence of us-Abraham (?) Nartub and Th(?)aniel M. Miller.
