Elmer E. Skillman, 80, of Washington, formerly of Califon and Bernardsville, died Oct. 6, 2009 at Country Arch Care Center, Pittstown.
He was born Dec. 4, 1928 in Bernard’s Township, a son of the late Isaac and Margaret Skillman.
Elmer was a heavy equipment operator for Alwards Construction Co., Bernard’s. He retired in 1989.
Elmer was a member of the Califon Fire Department, and he was a member of the Operating Engineers.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Badini and her husband Jeff of Kenvil; two sons, Robert Skillman and his wife Bonnie of Reeders, Pa., and Edward Skillman and his wife Kathy of Gouldsboro, Pa.; a sister, Bessy Skillman; six grandchildren, Mickey, Colin, Tracy, Travis, Trevor and Stacy; and five great grandchildren, Mason, Mitchell, Santino, Giovanni and Madison.
He was predeceased by four brothers, Delbert, Edward, Thomas and William, and two sisters, Betsy and Mary.
Visitation will be held 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10 at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234. W. Washington Ave. Washington. A 12 p.m. funeral service will be officiated by Rev. James Scovell.
