171. Jacob Skillman was born on 26 June 1753 in Windsor (now Mercer), Middlesex, NJ. According to gravestone he was 81y10m3d when he died on 29 Apr 1835, making his b. 26 Jun 1753. He was christened on 8 February 1756 at Low Dutch Ch. in Six Mile Run, Franklin, Somerset, NJ. He served in the military flag bearer in 1776 at New Jersey Militia in Revolutionary War. From SOA:
...wagonmaster in Capt. Wm. Davison's Company in Team Brigade in Rev. War.; Peter Stultz, Jacob Skillman and Isaac Snediker, privates in Middlesex Militia (from Kingston, N. J.), and all, with John Storey, were pillaged of small amounts by British and Hessian soldiers. Jacob died on 29 April 1835 at the age of 81 in Union, Broome, NY. His will was recorded in book D, page 141; Elias S. Skillman appt. exec.
