Christina Deanna/Catherine Theisen, daughter of Jacob Theisen and Anna Meyers, was born on 12 July 1908 in Kendall, WA. She was living in June 2001 in Sumas, Whatcom, WA. Christina C. Skillman of Sumas died at the Christian Health Care Center in Lynden on Saturday, May 29. She was 95.

A Christian Prayer Service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 2, at 7:00 pm followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 3, in St. Peter's Catholic Church on the Mt. Baker Highway. Burial will follow the Mass in St. Peter's Cemetery near Kendall.

Christina was born in the Kendall area on July 12, 1908 and was the daughter of Jacob and Anna (Meyers) Theisen. She was married to Jack Skillman on August 3, 1935 and together operated a farm on the Sumas Road for many years. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Sumas where she was also the organist, and then St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lynden. A home maker, Christina enjoyed gardening and crocheting and had been active at the Sumas Senior Center.

Mrs. Skillman was preceded in death by her husband Jack, daughter Teresa Skillman and great-granddaughter Therese Skillman; brothers Henry, Albert, Leo and Nickolas Theisen; sisters Eva Rogers, Anna Straka and Catherine Bergner.

Christina is survived by her children James and Maureen Skillman of Sumas, Tom and Norma Skillman of Anacortes, Dolores Knutzen of Everson, Mary and Ralph Minaker also of Everson; sixteen grand, thirty-great grand and three great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Margaret Theisen of Bellingham and numerous other relatives.
