She died on 2 February 1983 at the age of 89 at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell, Steuben, NY. She was buried on 5 February 1983 at Whitesville Rural Cemetery in Whitesville, Allegany, NY. Jessie Ann Skillman and Melvin Ray Lewis were married on 21 December 1911. Melvin Ray Lewis was born in 1888. He died in 1939 at the age of 51.
