William was buried in Rocky Hill, Montgomery Twp., Somerset, NJ. He, wife Ann Elizabeth and son Henry Stryker share a common tombstone. He was a Farmer. SOMERVILLE, N.J., Dec. 4. -- William H. Skillman, the aged horticulturist and ex-President of the New Jersey Horticultural Society, who a year ago was accused of forging the will of the late William Lanehart, his old friend and neighbor, was found guilty to-night. On Dec. 4, 1907 he was found guilty of forging a will for his friend William Lanehart. (He submitted a will claimed to be Lanehart's last will for probate a month after Lanehart's death. Shortly afterwards John M. Race, cashier of the Hopewell Nat'l Bank at Hopewell, NJ filed another will) In it, he and Lanehart's niece, Laura Kellogg would split the bulk of Lanehart's estate. He was sentenced to 5 years in the State prison at Trenton, NJ. He was later adjudged a medical risk and transferred to a hospital.

William Hendrick Skillman and Ann Elizabeth Stryker were married on 20 January 1867 in Blawenburg, Montgomery Twp., Somerset, NJ. They appeared in the census in 1880 in Montgomery Twp., Somerset, NJ. Ann Elizabeth Stryker, daughter of Henry Stryker and Sarah Maria Voorhees, was born on 13 January 1848 in New Jersey. She lived Rock Brook Rd in Montgomery Twp., Somerset, NJ in 1920. She died in 1928 at the age of 80. Ann was buried in Rocky Hill, Montgomery Twp., Somerset, NJ.
