44. Sarah "Sally, Sallie" Skillman was born in 1738 in New York. She died before 1838 at the age of 100 in New York. Her SOA Number is 4 v. From SOA:
"My loving daughter," her mother calls her, "wife of Thomas Skillman, of Kingstowne" She was b. 1738, and m. 1762 her cousin, Thomas, 2nd son of Benj. Skillman and wife, Margaret Coe, then of Dutch Kills. She herself gets her mother's "moveable estate" at death; and to her dau., Anne, the grandmother by will, as name-gift, bequeaths "one chintz gown." Later on, on becoming a widow, the name of Sarah appears in property transfers signed "Sallie Skillman" (Middlesex Co. Records, N. Brunswick), i.e., "two lots or parcels of land at Kingston" sold for $8oo, Capt. William Jones (great-grandfather of the writer) being witness to the deed. (See Thomas4 Skillman, post.)

Sarah "Sally, Sallie" Skillman and Thomas Skillman were married in 1762. Thomas Skillman, son of Benjamin Skillman and Margaret Coe, was born in 1739 in Newtown (Maspeth Kills), Queens, NY. He served in the military from March 1778 to 1 July 1778 in Revolutionary War. He enlisted as a Corporal in Capt. James Moore's company, N.J., Col. Seeley's Regiment, Somerset County, N.J. militia. He was on duty at Princeton, N.J. guarding prisoners from May 24 to June 4, 1778. He reenlisted as a Private in Capt. Moore's Company, Col. Van Dike's regiment Somerset Co. militia on June 19, 1778. He guarded prisoners while en route to Philadelphia and Morristown, N.J. He was discharged July 1, 1778. He died on 9 July 1795 at the age of 56 in Kingston, Somerset, NJ. His SOA Number is 22. ...with Jacob (brother-in-law) was executor of the will of Anne Skillman, his wife's mother (1772). Himself d. before Sally, she being granted at Somerville, July 9, 1795, letters of administration. Their home was at Kingston on the Somerset side of the "Great Road,"

John Skillman was born in 1767. He died before 1810 at the age of 43. From SOA:
"Killed by accident at Penn's Neck or Hightstown, a young man, unm." His SOA Number is 22 ii.

Ann Skillman was born about 1770. She died before 1870 at the age of 100. Her SOA Number is 22 v. From SOA:
...m. "a minister named Van Doren of Basking Ridge, some connection of the Gulicks." This is the Ann Skillman who is remembered in her grandmother's will of 1772, with a name-gift.
