He appeared in the census in 1910 in Leavitt, Oceana, MI. In 1910 Census he was a farm helper on the Walker farm. Chauncey lived in Walkerville, Oceana, MI in 1920. He was living in Walkerville in 1910, boarding with Alton J. Walker. He died after 1920 at the age of 64. He was a farmer.

Chauncey H. Skillman and Minnie Frances "Frankie" Haney were married on 27 August 1887 in Mecosta Twp., Mecosta, MI. They were divorced. Minnie Frances "Frankie" Haney, daughter of Joseph C. Haney and Ardilla Frances Bunn, was born on 27 May 1869 in Sunfield, MI. She died before 1920 at the age of 51 in Michigan. Another source has d. 6/23/1927 in Snohomish, WA.

Clarence V. "Clare V." Skillman was born on 9 June 1883. He died on 24 October 1883 at the age of 0. He was buried at Alaska Cemetery (GR) in Caledonia Twp., Kent Co., MI.
