1059. Elisha H. Skillman was born in 1832 in Lambertville, Hunterdon, NJ. In 1850 he was a laborer in Barry Twp., Barry, MI. He served in the military from 11 October 1862 to 24 November 1865 in Union Army. Enlisted as a Private in Co. K, 6th cavalry, 10/11/1862, Hope, MI. Mustered 10/13/1862. Mustered out at Ft. Leavenworth, KS, 11/24/1865.

He is listed in Ancestry's Civil War Pension Index. Elisha died in 1900 at the age of 68. He was buried at Lakeside Cemetery in Lake Odessa, Ionia, MI.
