William M. Skillman, 80, of 8171 State Route, Arkport, New York (961-F) passed away Monday (March 3, 2008) unexpectedly at St. James Hospital. Born in Hornell, November 4, 1927, the son of Clarence and Thelma (Ross) Skillman, he had resided in the Hornell area all his life. He had been employed in the maintenance department and as a painter for the New York State Department of Transportation in Hornell prior to his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the Hornellsville Lodge #44 F&AM and Christ Epis Church in Hornell. Bill will be remembered as an avid hunter and fisherman. Bill had served his country as a member of the US Navy and the US Merchant Marines.

He was predeceased by his parents and one sister, Leah Coleman. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Cramer Skillman whom he married in December of 1947, his daughter, LuAnn (Daniel) Hartwell and his son, John (Susan) Skillman both of Arkport, 3 grandchildren, Heather Hartwell-Clark, Christie Ann Skillman, and Craig Skillman, as well as 3 great-grandchildren. William was buried after 3 March 2008 at Arkport Heritage Hill Cemetery in Hornell, Steuben, NY. He served in the military in U. S. Navy and Merchant Marine.

William M. Skillman and Marjorie Eileen Cramer were married in December 1947. Marjorie Eileen Cramer, daughter of Dillis Cramer and Florence Wampole, was born on 14 December 1927 in West Sparta, NY. She died on 1 January 2011 at the age of 83 in Arkport, Steuben, NY. Arkport, New York.

Marjorie E. Skillman, 83, of 8117 State Route 961-F, passed away Saturday (January 1, 2011) at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.

Born in West Sparta, December 14, 1927, the daughter of Dillis and Florence Wampole Cramer, she had resided in this area all her life. She was a graduate of Dansville Central School and was employed for several years at the former Bethesda Community Hospital. She had attended the United Presbyterian Church in Hornell.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Skillman; two sisters, June Crame and Joyce Kelly; as well as one brother, Wilbur Cramer.

She is survived by her daughter, LuAnn (Daniel) Hartwell of Arkport, and her son, John (Susan) Skillman of Arkport; two brothers, Willard Cramer of Dansville, and Gerald (Martha) Cramer of Dansville; 3 grandchildren, Heather Hartwell-Calrk and her husband Carl, Christie Ann Alex-Hart and her husband Reggie, and Craig Skillman; three great-grandchildren, Danny Clark, Kaylie Kendrick and Audra Alex-Hart; nieces and nephews; and her faithful friend, "Trixie."
