Sioux Falls - Doris Lillian Skillman, 91, of Sioux Falls, SD died Tuesday, December 23, 2003, at Good Samaritan Village. Funeral services have been set for 10:00 am Saturday, December 27, 2003, at Augustana Lutheran Church. Visitation will begin 3:00 pm Friday, December 26, 2003, with family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Miller Funeral Home Valley View Chapel. A Family Memorial Service was held at Mount of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Avon, CO on Wednesday, December 24, 2003.

Doris Lillian Swanson was born in Valley Springs, SD on February 28, 1912 to Andrew and Esther Matilda (Nelson) Swanson. Doris graduated from Valley Springs High School. Doris married Lyle M. Skillman in Valley Springs in 1930. Doris worked many years at Rich Bros. Toy Wholesale and Fireworks Company. She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church, served on the Bethany Lutheran Home Board and various committees.

Doris is survived by her children, Deloris Y. McDonald of Sioux Falls, and Rodney (Roselyn) Skillman of Edwards, CO grandchildren, Cynthia J. Lappegard, Patricia K. McDonald, Lori (Dennis) Skadson, James (Megan) McDonald, Jodi (Todd) Butzer, Brent (Juli) Skillman and Paul (Alison) Skillman 12 great grandchildren one great great grandson, one sister Elsie Anderson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband Lyle, parents, three brothers, sister and grandchild.

Memorials may be directed to the Augustana Lutheran Building Fund.
