Mary Carol Unknown was born in 1943. Dewey, Mary Carol ST. SIMMONS ISLAND, Ga. and CORINTH -- Mary Carol Dewey, 62, of St. Simons Island, Ga., and Corinth, died Sunday, June 12, 2005, at her home on St. Simons Island, Ga. A native of Corinth, Mrs. Dewey taught school for 25 years at Salem Central School, Salem, New York. She was 1960 graduate of Corinth High School and a 1964 graduate of the University of Maine. She earned her master's degree at University of Massachusetts at North Adams State. Mr. Dewey had made her winter home on St. Simons Island for the past five years and was an officer with the St. Simons Island Newcomers. She was of the Methodist faith. Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Howard L. Dewey, of St. Simons Island and Corinth; two sons, Howard L. Dewey, Jr., of Atlanta and Christopher F. Dewey, of Bluffton, S.C.; four grandchildren, Sherman Dewey, Charles Dewey, Emma Margaret Dewey and Jack Hunter Dewey. A memorial service will be held in Corinth at a time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mary Carol Dewey Scholarship Fund, c/o Linda Gilligan, Salem Central School, East Broadway, Saleum, NY 12857.
