Skillman, 81, of 2858 Green Branch Road, New Lexington, died at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born July 12, 1923, in Perry County, to the late Francis and Loretta Hammond Metzger. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Somerset. Surviving are two daughters, Barbara (Tony) Ross of Corning and Clara Elaine (Floyd) Moore of New Lexington; six sons, Robert (Pam) Skillman of New Lexington, Gary (Carol) Skillman of New Lexington, Douglas (Bonnie) Skillman of New Lexington, Steve (Annette) Skillman of New Lexington, Rick (Kathy) Skillman of Somerset and Martin (Annette) Skillman of Junction City; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Bonnie (Jim) Emmert of Somerset, Clara Studer of New Lexington and Rose (Don) Bever of Lancaster; two brothers, Francis (Monica) Metzger of New Lexington and James (Berdell) Metzger of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Skillman, who died Jan. 31, 1959; two infant sons, Paul and Frank Skillman; a sister, Madyline Strohl; and two brothers, Harold Metzger and Raymond Metzger. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 2, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 304 Mill St., New Lexington, with wake services at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Tony Breen as celebrant.
