91. John Skillman was born on 19 April 1750 in Flatbush, Kings, NY. Ancestry.com - Gene Pool Individual Records has b. 13 May 1750. He was christened on 13 May 1750 in Flatbush, Kings, NY. He served in the military in 1776 in Revolutionary War, Bushwick Co. at Battle of Long Island. John died on 21 November 1827 at the age of 77. He was buried at Mt. Olivet Cem. in Frankfort, Herkimer, NY. His SOA Number is 25. Taken prisoner on 09/15/1776 on York Island and put in Provost. His
brother Thomas was also taken.

From SOA:
John inherited the ancestral farm at Bushwick (now heart of Brooklyn), the house on Front St., between Union Ave. and Lorimer St. He was a J. P. and later Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Kings Co. Debora's grave is with the Conselyea's; he is buried at Mt. Olivet with others of the family.

John Skillman and Deborah Conselyea were married on 17 June 1769 at Presby. Church in Newtown, Queens, NY. New York Marriages, Record: M.B., vol xiv, page 121. Deborah Conselyea, daughter of John Conselyea and Janike Van Cott, was born about 1749 in Bushwick, Brooklyn, NY.

John Skillman and Hannah Van Cott were married. Hannah Van Cott, daughter of David Van Cott and Neeltje Bennett, was born on 17 June 1768. She died on 9 October 1843 at the age of 75. She was buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Baltimore (Independent City), Baltimore, MD.
