A funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, in Green Hills Memorial Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., for Edwin George Skillman Jr., who died Feb. 17 at age 83.
Mr. Skillman was born Feb. 21, 1917, in Santa Barbara, Calif. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a longshoreman for 42 years in Long Beach, Calif., before he retired in 1979 and moved to Milwaukie. For 45 years, he was a volunteer Santa Claus in stores, nursing homes and homes in California and Milwaukie. He was a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels in Oregon City. In 1939, he married Theresa E. York.
Survivors include his wife; son, Jerry L.; daughter, Sandra R. Chatterton; and three grandchildren.
Interment is in Green Hills Cemetery in Rancho Palos Verdes. The family suggests remembrances to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements are by Hillside Chapel.

A graveside service will be Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. for Theresa E. "Trix" Skillman, who died Aug. 27, 2001, at age 82.
Mrs. Skillman was born Theresa E. York on April 20, 1919, in San Pedro, Calif. A retired high school cafeteria cook in California, she moved to Milwaukee in about 1980. In 1939, she married Edwin G. Skillman; he died in February.
Survivors include her son, Jerry L.; daughter, Sandy R. Chatterton; brother, O. "Jack" Hutchinson; and three grandchildren.
Interment in Rancho Palos Verdes. Remembrances to Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements by Hillside.
