1127. Charles Robert Skillman was born in 1843 in Virginia. He appeared in the census in 1850 in Loudoun Co., VA. He died in 1916 at the age of 73. Charley has a death date of 1921 from Sudley Cemetery. Find-a-Grave has 1919, from the stone picture, same cemetery. Charles was buried at Sudley UMC Cemetery in Prince William Co., VA. He served in the military Co. D, 8th VA Infantry Regiment Civil War at Confederate Army. From great grandson Kevin Clayborn: "He applied for a pension from the state of Virginia in 1912 and described his battles and POW experience in Old Capitol Prison."

Charles Robert Skillman and Lula Jackson Lee were married on 19 July 1915 in Gainesville, Loudoun, VA. Lula Jackson Lee, daughter of John Franklin Lee and Sarah Edith Jones, was born on 21 May 1863 in Loudoun Co., VA. Census of 1900 gives her birth as Oct. 1862 in VA. She appeared in the census in 1900 in Broad Run, Loudoun, VA. In the 1900 Census she reported she had had 9 children, six now living. She lived Braddock Rd in Loudoun Co., VA in 1920. Lula appeared in the census in 1920 at Braddock Rd. in Broad Run, Loudoun, VA. She appeared in the census in 1930 in Little River Pike, Providence, Fairfax, VA. In the 1930 Census she was living with her daughter Rosie and her husband Paul Rice. She died in 1932 at the age of 69. Lula was buried at Sudley UMC Cemetery in Prince William Co., VA.
