5. Lijsbet/Elizabeth Skillman was born in 1677 in Newtown (Maspeth Kills), Queens, NY. She died on 20 August 1742 at the age of 65 in Somerset Co., NJ. She was baptized at Church of Belgic Confession, in New York. Her SOA Number is 1 iv. From SOA:
Sponsor at bap. (Collegiate Church) of her sister Elsje's child, Jan, Sept. 21, 1701. She m. Jan Aten, of Flatbush, brother of Thomas, settled at Jamaica, L.I., and had a child bap. there (Ref. Dutch Church), in 1705 Thomas Aten and Elsje Schilman, sponsors. In 1710-15, with other members of the Aten family, Jan removed to Three Mile Run, N. J.; an Elder in the Ref. Dutch Church there in 1717. (See Records of the First Reformed Dutch Church, New Brunswick, N.J.) Jan Aten's will, probated March 13, 1743, names his wife Elizabeth.

Lijsbet/Elizabeth Skillman and Jan Adriaesen Aten were married in 1699 in Jamaica, Queens, NY. Jan Adriaesen Aten, son of Adriaen Hendricksen Aten and Elizabeth Thomas, was born in 1664. He died in 1743 at the age of 79 in Somerset Co., NJ.
