She graduated from Freemont High School in January 1951 and worked as a teller for Crocker Bank. She met Everett Skillman in 1950 and they married on August 26, 1951. In 1956, they moved to La Puente, where they remained until 1967. During that time, they had five children - Everett Jr., Thomas, Phillip, Elaine, and Kathryn. In 1967, the family moved to Covina, the family home to this day. While Everett Sr. worked for the City of Los Angeles and went to school, Jane raised the children and became a homemaker. Jane Skillman enjoyed researching genealogy with her friend, Ginger Ferguson. She also loved football and baseball, movies, working crossword puzzles, playing board games (oh Donut Night!) and talking with family and friends. Jane Skillman is survived by her five children, a daughter and a son in law, five grandchildren, one younger brother, numerous nephews and nieces, and friends.
