He received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering degree in June 1933 at Rutgers Univ. in New Brunswick, Middlesex, NJ. Elected to Tau Beta Pi, the national honorary engineering society, in his Junior year. He served in the military Colonel, ret. between 1936 and 1966 in U.S. Army. During WW II, he served with the 45th Engineer Regiment in northeastern India and Burma. The 45th Engineers supported the Northern Burma Campaign with construction of roads, bridges and airfields. He commanded Company C of 1st battalion, then commanded 1st Battalion, and finally was second-in-command of the 45th Engineer Regiment. Following WW II, he served in the occupation of Germany. He graduated from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College in June 1951 and from the Armed Forces Staff College in Jan. 1955. Following retirement from the Army, he was deputy director for all buildings and utilities at Texas A&M University. Subsequently, he served in the engineering division of the public works department of the City of Tampa. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and president of the Bay Crest Civic Association 1969-1971. She also remained active in the Baycrest Garden Club, her bridge group and Crafty Ladies. She was a member of Wesley Memorial Methodist Church. Artist, gourmet cook, star gazer, our mother's interests were diverse and she excelled in many fields. Her avid curiosity and continuous quest for knowledge were ever an inspiration.
