Skillman of 205 Center Avenue, Cranford, N.J., a retired Jersey City and Cranford retail hardware dealer, died of a heart ailment as he was about to go fishing with relatives at the Orienta boat yard here this afternoon. He was with a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur E. Deffaa of 21 Lincoln Street, Larchmont, N.Y., when stricken. His age was 74. Mr. Skillman was a member of the Cranford Rotary Club and was a Government hardware inspector during the first World War. Besides his daughter he leaves a widow, Mrs. Minnie Croad Skillman; another daughter, Miss Anita May Skillman, of Cranford, a son, Charles A., Jr., of Roselle, N.J.
