Organized at Baltimore, Md., June and July, 1863, for six months. Ordered to Harper's Ferry, W. Va., July 16, and guard lines of the Upper Potomac until January, 1864. Attached to 2nd Brigade, Maryland Heights Division of West Virginia, July, 1863. 1st Brigade, Maryland Heights Division of West Virginia, to December, 1863. 1st Brigade, 1st Division, West Virginia, to January, 1864. Mustered out January 29, 1864.
Regiment lost 22 by disease during service.

The Following information.
Francis A. Everitt was a private in C Company, Tenth Regiment Infantry, Drafted on Thursday, June 18, 1863 and released from service on Friday, January 24, 1864 - At that time there was also a James J. Everitt, private, C Company 11th Regiment Infantry from May 24 to September 29, 1864. and a Private John H. Everitt, F> Company, Potomac Home Brigade from Wed, Septemmber 4, 1861 to May 29, 1865 - was promoted to Sergeant and transfered to F Company, 13th Maryland Regiment Infantry. Have no knowledge as to whether these persons are related.

THE Tenth Regiment of Infantry, Maryland Volunteers, was organ-
ized at Baltimore, Md., during the months of June and July,
1863, to serve six months under the President's proclamation of
June 15th, 1863.

The 10th Regiment was sent to Harper's Ferry, Va., shortly
after its organization, and utilized in the performance of duty
relating to guarding the lines of communication on the Upper Poto-
mac. On the 18th day of October, 1863, the 10th Regiment of Infantry, Maryland Volun-
teers, with the 34th Massachusetts Infantry, Minor's Indiana Battery of Light Artillery
and Cole's Battalion of Maryland Cavalry attacked and drove out of Charlestown, Va.,
the Confederate Brigade of Imboden's Confederate Mounted Infantry, Artillery and
Cavalry, who had captured the 9th Regiment of Infantry, Maryland Volunteers.
The attack and pursuit continued all day and only closed at nightfall.
The death casualties in this regiment were as follows, viz.: Died of disease, etc.,
twenty-two enlisted men.

The regiment was mustered out of the military service of the United States on the
29th day of January, 1864, by reason of expiration of term of service.

line 28 - Francis Everitt was a Clerk by trade, (possibly for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad). The record states that FE was born in Maryland, his father (which would have been Thomas Skillman Everitt), was born in New Jersey and his Mother was born in Pennsylvania..

line 29 - Emma Everitt (neƩ Corwine)'s occupation was listed as "keep home". She was listed as being born in Virginia, Emma's Father was listed as being born in New Jersey and her mother as being born in Virgini

line 30 - Thomas was listed as being born in Maryland, his father (Francis) listed as being born in Maryland, and his mother (Emma) as being born in Virginia.

line 21 - Interestingly enough, William Corwine's occupation is listed as either a Houlder or Moulder, (can't tell if first letter is an H or an M). He lists his birthplace as Pennsylvania, (contrary to what is listed on Emma Everitt's line). William Corwine's father's birthplace is listed as New Jersey and his mother's birthplace is listed as New York.
