Known in hotel circles, so it is said, as a leading hotel manager of ability in the Fast and Middle West, Frederic C. Skillman has recently taken over the management of the Fast End Park hotel, northwest corner Hyde Park blvd. and E. 53rd St. Mr. Skillman is not a stranger in Hyde Park. For several years he was an assistant manager of the Chicago Beach hotel. He has managed the Surf hotel of Chicago and for four years owned and managed the Chase hotel of St. Louis. The new East End Park manager is a New York man originally where he was born and where his early hotel experience was gained. He is a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and a graduate of the University of Michigan. A daughter attends Northwestern and a son, John Vandyke Skillman, is attending Philips Exeter academy in New Hampshire. Frederic died on 9 December 1968 at the age of 89 in San Diego, San Diego, CA. Services for Frederic C. Skillman Sr., 89, of 2044 Sunset Blvd., a retired Midwest hotel owner, will be at 3 p.m. tomorrow in Johnson-Saum & Knobel Mortuary. He died Monday in a hospital.
Skillman, a native of New York City, retired in 1942 as owner and operator of the Chase Hotel in St. Louis. He also owned the Chicago Beach and Parklane Hotels in Chicago, among others.
Past president of the Hotel Greeters of America and the Hotelmen's Mutual Benefit Association, Skillman was a member also of the Sons of the American Revolution (#65414) and Sigma Chi Fraternity
Surviving are his widow, Mary; two sons; a daughter; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Cremation is planned.

Julia Mary Christie, daughter of William Christie and Augusta Schumann, was born on 14 September 1886 in Grand Rapids, Kent, MI.
