10212. Marvin Hubert Skillman Jr. was born on 14 September 1943 in Prob. Madison Co., WA. He died exposure during snowstorm in November 1977 at the age of 34 at Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park in Longmire, WA. From The Anderson Herald, Vol 116, No. 244, 3/29/1978:
"The body of a man discovered Sunday afternoon in Mount Rainier National Park near Longmire, Wash., has tentatively been identified as that of an Anderson resident, authorities have confirmed." "He resided with his mother at 802 Greenfield Drive in Anderson."

"The badly decomposed body was reportedly found by hikers some three miles south of the Mowich Lake Road near the Paul Peak Trail."

From his obit in Herald, 3/31/1978: "A native of Madison County, Skillman was a former bus driver and a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he is survived by his mother and stepfather, Robert and Patricia Jackson of Anderson; his father, Marvin H. Skillman Sr., of Anderson; two brothers, Ron and Edward Skillman, both of Anderson, and a sister, Mrs. Jerry Hannaford of Fort Wayne. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Baker Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements." He was buried on 1 April 1978. Marvin was a bus driver. He served in the military in the Vietnam War. He was a member. Marvin had Social Security Number 307-46-0504.
