4328. Elmer Howard Skillman was born in 1904 in New Jersey. He died while working as a lineman on 4 August 1928 at the age of 24 in Utica, NY. Funeral Conducted For Victim of Fall -

Howard Elmer Skillman, former Trentonian, who was fatally killed while working in Utica, N.Y., August 4, was buried from the home of his niece, Mrs. John Sykes, 307 Tioga Street, last Tuesday. Burial was in Princeton Cemetery, under direction of S.S. Mather, of Princeton.

Skillman who was the husband of Mrs. Florence Skillman was employed, as a lineman in Utica. He had climbed a pole, had his gloves on, but did not have his safety belt about him. He had reached the transformer box when his chin accidentally touched it and he toppled to the ground on his head. Physicians who examined his body declare death due to a fractured skull.

He was the son of Mrs, Alfreda and the late William Skillman. Those who acted as bearers were: John Sykes, John Hutton, John E. McKeever and Thomas Hutton.

Flowers were from: Wife, mother, John O'Donnell, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Barry, Nieces Eleanor, Margaret and Kathryn, Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Penner, Mr. and Mrs J.D. Grand, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Seever and family, Mrs. Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Hutton and family and slumber robe from Mr. and Mrs. John E. McKeever and family. He was buried about 6 August 1928 at Princeton Cemetery in Princeton, NJ.

Elmer Howard Skillman and Florence O'Donnell were married. Florence O'Donnell, daughter of John J. O'Donnell and Mary Unknown, was born in 1901. She died on 21 June 1949 at the age of 48 at Sr. Francis Hospital in Trenton, Mercer, NJ.
