Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Greenville Congregational Christian church for Mrs. Larie Evelyn Shives, 40, of Elroy, east of Union City, who died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in Wayne hospital at Greenville.

Mrs. Shives, well-known beautician, was a lifelong resident of Elroy. She had been ill one week.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard; two sons, Richard and Jack, at home; her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. David Skillman, of Elroy, and a brother, Forest, of Indianapolis. [Burial was made in t he Teegarden Cemetery.] Union City Times-Gazette, Monday, March 3, 1947.
