8616. Richard Spencer "Dick" Skillman was born on 9 February 1931 at Dunnell Rd., on the kitchen table while "Lum and Abner" was on the radio in Maplewood, Essex, NJ. He served in the military corporal from 2 November 1952 to 30 August 1955 in U.S. Army. He received a B.S. in civil engineering degree in 1957 at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Lehigh, PA. From 1958 to July 1991 Dick was an engineering and information systems specialist at Bell Atlantic Corp. in Madison, Madison, NJ. He died of congestive heart failure on 6 November 2007 at the age of 76 at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ. Obit in The Star-Ledger on 11/7/2007 He was buried on 23 April 2008 at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union, NJ. Dick was cremated.

He was a member of the Kenilworth Jaycees and served as the state chairman of the Jaycees from 1966 to 1967. He was an avid bowler, golfer and a 23-year fan of the Fanwood Old Mans Softball League.
