Survivors: wife, Clara Mae Skillman; daughters, Margaret Woodward, Teresa and Ruby Skillman, all of Gladsden, Brenda Yates, Attalla, Deborah Woods, Oneonata; sons, Julius Eugene, Jr., Jeffrey Ottis, and Walter Daniel Skillman, all of Gladsden, Jerry Charles, Snead; mother Ruby Jo Skillman, Altoona, Morgan Funeral Home, of Attalla, directing. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 pm. at Walnut Church of God with Reverned Jackie Garrard officiating. Burial at Bethlehem Cemetery. Other surviors: sisters, Elsie Mae Allred, Remlap, Louise Hollingsworth, Horton, Nancy Box and Bonnie Clements, both of Altoona; brother, Richard Skillman, Walnut Grove, Danny Skillman, Altoona; 18 grandchildren. Pallbearers: Charles Ray Jenkins, Ed Denison, Sidney and Terry Grace, Bertis and David Hill, Jimmy and Johnny Allred. Mr. Skillman was a native and lifelong resident of Etowah county. He was a member of the Walnut Grove Church of God and Teamsters Local 612. The body will remain at the funeral home and lie in state at the church 1 hour prior to the service.
