Ralph Roberts Skillman was born in 1926 in Maryland. He served in the military from 16 September 1943 to 16 November 1944 in U.S. Navy. Rank: AOM2C (Aviation Ordnanceman, 2nd Class) He died on 25 October 1944 at the age of 18. Rootsweb has that he died in the battle for Leyte Gulf, aboard the USS Suwannee, CVE27, 25-26 Oct. 1944
