SKILLMAN, THEODORE F. JR., 79, of Sun City Center, died Monday (Feb. 17, 1997) at Columbia South Bay Hospital. A Sun City Center resident for the past 11 years, he was born in Lambertville, N.J., and lived in St. Cloud before moving to Sun City Center. He was the owner of T. F. Skillman Co., which specialized in overhead garage doors and electric operators. He was a 50-year member of the West Essex Lodge 40 F&AM and a lifetime member of Kiwanis International, and was awarded its Distinguished President award in the Kiwanis Charter Leisure Village in New Jersey. A professional bass violin musician, he sang with various choral groups in New Jersey and was a member of the Ocean Grove Auditorium Choir. He attended St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Sun City Center. Survivors include his wife, Jean S.; a daughter, Jane S. Nicholson, Lewes, Del.; a brother, Charles W., Cape May Court House, N.J.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Zipperer's Agape Mortuary & Crematory!

Theodore Frelinghuysen "Ted" Skillman Jr. and Jean S. Smith were married. Jean S. Smith, daughter of Joseph Smith and Sadie Elgard, was born on 18 October 1917 in Lambertville, Hunterdon, NJ. She graduated in 1935. She died on 23 July 2006 at the age of 88 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Sussex, DE. From the Cape Gazette:

Jean S. Skillman, 88, of Lewes, and Sun City Center, Fla., died Sunday, July 23, 2006, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.
Mrs. Skillman was born in Lambertville, N.J., daughter of the late Joseph and Sadie Elgard Smith of New Hope, Pa. She was a graduate of New Hope High School in 1935.
Mrs. Skillman was a partner and secretary to her husband in the T.F. Skillman Overhead Garage Door business located in Bloomfield, N.J. In retirement they lived in Ocean Grove and Leisure Village, N.J., before moving to St. Cloud, then Sun City, Fla.
Recently she relocated to her daughter's home in Lewes.
Mrs. Skillman was a past president of the Bloomfield Federation of Women's Club; past president of the Bloomfield College Auxiliary; a member of the Blooomfield Eastern Star No. 76 and St. Cloud Order of Eastern Star No. 46. She was a member of the United Community Church, Sun City.
Mrs. Skillman is survived by a daughter, Jane Nicholson and her husband Robert H. of Lewes; two granddaughters, Marjorie Turkett and her husband Glenn of Riva, N.J., and Amanda Stephens of Lewes; a grandson, Robert S. Nicholson and wife Marie of Bear; five great grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a sister, Marian Booth of Weslaco, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; and two daughters, Dorean Olson and Gertrude Skillman.
Burial will be private.
Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes. Jean was cremated. She was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Lambertville, Hunterdon, NJ.
