He died of acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis on 3 January 1963 at the age of 60 at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville, Buncombe, NC. He was a superintendent. Philip was buried at Fairview Cemetery in Warrenton Twp., Warren, NC.

Philip Benjamin Skillman and Margaret Catherine Williams were married on 15 October 1931. They lived at 8 Wilburn Rd. in Asheville, Buncombe, NC. Margaret Catherine Williams, daughter of John Lewis Williams and Julia Catherine Starling, was born on 12 February 1909 in Cumberland Co., NC. DURHAM - Mrs. Margaret Williams Skillman, 81, of Durham died Wednesday at  the Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community in Culpeper, Va.
Funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Blaylock Funeral Home in  Warrenton.
A native of Falcon, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Durham and  a homemaker.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Catherine Payton of Alexandria, Va., Mrs.  Joyce McKenzie of Greensboro; son, Benjamin Skillman of Asheville; sisters,  Mrs. Dora Southerland of Rocky Mount, Mrs. Berlene Howe of Creedmoor, Mrs.  Virginia Andrews of Durham, Mrs. Bonnie Naylor of Conyers, Ga., Mrs. Julia  Hall of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home 9:30-11:30 a.m. Friday.
